common types of cladding used on melbourne homes

  • Pine weatherboards are one of the more common cladding methods, especially for historic homes in Melbourne. We will match this product when patching an existing wall, or when restoring a historic home.

  • Low Organic Solvent Preservative are a more modern alternative to weatherboards. This product comes in various profiles (shapes) and is significantly more weather resistant than regular pine weatherboards.

  • Fibre Cement Weatherboards emulate the look of traditional weatherboards, but are made out of a materials that is significantly more rot resistant and fire resistant.

  • Hardwood cladding provides unparalleled beauty, has good fire resistance, and good rot resistance. Hardwood is typically more expensive than most other cladding materials, but is often chosen for stunning results.

  • Composite cladding panels are often chosen by architects to provide specific design aesthetics to modern homes. This product enables us to use a variety of profiles, shapes, sizes, and textures on the exterior of homes.

  • Fibre cement panels use the same materials as other fibre cement products, but come in large sheets which provide equally large and seamless coverage. A frequently used product is James Hardie Axon.
